Sommelier/Cellar Master (NOC: 6453)

We are a Relais & Chateaux property chosen by Travel & Leisure Magazine as Canada’s Top Resort 2013, and we are seeking a Sommelier/Cellar Master to start early May 2017.

Duties include:

  • Looking after and maintaining Wine Spectator “Grand Award” wine cellar, 28,000 bottles.
  • Providing beverage service to hotel and restaurant guests, including assisting guests with wine selections and food pairings
  • Overseeing beverage service standards including education and training of hotel service staff
  • Ordering and maintaining hotel beverage inventory
  • Organization and maintenance of hotel’s beverage lists including Post Hotel Wine List, 2500 labels
  • Conducting wine tastings

 

This management position has an attractive salary package and apartment style accommodation is available at a preferred rate.

 

Experience and skills requirements:

Education:  Sommelier Certification

Work experience:  Dining Room service experience a must

Terms of employment:  Permanent/Full Time – this is a minimum one year position

Job Description:

  • To be fully aware of the preparation and service of all dishes on the hotel menus
  • To prepare and present dishes on hotel menus according to customer requirements
  • To consistently deliver superior customer service
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in the restaurant
  • Duties associated with this role including directing chefs in their section in preparing, cooking, and presenting culinary dishes; enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen; and trouble shooting any problems at may arise.

Line Cook (Breakfast/Lunch Cook – Fine Dining) – Excellent Staff Housing & 3 Meals per Day!

As a Line Cook for our breakfast/lunch fine dining, you will prepare and cook individual dishes and foods, ensure quality of food proportions, work with minimal supervision, prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, work with specialized cooking equipment.  Food preparation specialization will be Stocks, soups and sauces; Eggs and dairy, Cold kitchen (salads, appetizers, sandwiches); Vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms; Meat, poultry, fish, and seafood.

Skills requirements:

Education:  Completion of high school, cooking certificate a definite asset
