Renowned for its exceptional terroir, Burgundy, and specifically Beaune, produces some of the world's most sought-after wines. The region is steeped in winemaking tradition, with vineyards draped across picturesque landscapes. Explore the nuanced flavors and rich history of Burgundy wines, where every sip transports you to the heart of this illustrious wine-producing region.

Joseph Drouhin - Crafting Burgundy's Finest Since 1880

For almost a century and a half, the Drouhin family has been a mainstay in the heart of Beaune representing some of the best wines of Burgundy. In today’s wine world, it’s a rarity to find larger reputable houses that are still in family hands, however Maison Joseph Drouhin has managed to buck the trend with respect to its longevity, while simultaneously maintaining an impressively consistent level of quality throughout that time.

Founded in Beaune in 1880, this is one of the most famous and well-respected domains in Burgundy. Joseph Drouhin forms one of the largest Burgundy estates, planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Remarkably, most of the vineyards are classified as Premier and Grand Cru. Today, Maison Drouhin is run by Joseph’s four grand children; Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric.

Laurent Drouhin - Bridging Burgundy's Heritage and Modernity

Laurent Drouhin, growing up amidst the vineyards and cellars of his family's estate, fondly remembers playing in the "cuverie" and roller-skating through the cellars. Despite pursuing a banking career after graduating from Ecole Supérieure de Gestion in Paris, his heart remained in Burgundy. In 1993, he transitioned to sales for Joseph Drouhin, eventually becoming the sales manager for the French capital, overseeing a team serving restaurants, retailers, and collectors. Today, as the Export Director for North America and the Caribbean, he blends commercial expertise with a passion for communication and public relations. Based in New York since 2005, Laurent, with his creative spirit, finds a perfect match for the American lifestyle, even though he asserts that his heart belongs to Burgundy. Outside work, he enjoys sailing and has recently developed a passion for golf.
